Sixth Judicial District Court of New MexicoThe district court has jurisdiction over domestic
relations (divorce, child support and custody, domestic violence), probate
cases, children's court (abuse and neglect of children, juvenile delinquency,
adoptions), appeals for administrative agencies and lower courts, criminal
cases, and all general civil cases (auto accidents, contract disputes, real
property disputes, violation of civil rights). There are positions for four
district court judges and two special masters in the Sixth Judicial District
currently:

Yvonne Gonzales There are thirteen judicial districts in the State of New Mexico. The 6th Judicial District includes Grant, Hidalgo and Luna County. · Grant County was created January 30, 1868. It was in the 3rd Judicial District from 1868-1912 and became part of the 6th Judicial District in 1912 to present. · Hidalgo County was created February 25, 1919. It has been in the 6th Judicial District since its existence to present. · Luna County was created March 16, 1901. It was also in the 3rd Judicial District from 1901-1912 and became part of the 6th Judicial District in 1912 to present. On September 19, 2014, the New Mexico Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission will release its evaluations on nearly 90 judges standing for retention in the 2014 general election. In order to be evaluated, each Judge must have served on the bench for over two years before the evaluations commenced earlier this year. Because Jennifer E.
